Listening Program
The Listening Program Level I Kit is a remarkable state-of-the-art set of 10 HD (high definition) CD’s (24-bit , 192 KHz, Spatial Surround®) recorded in 5-speaker dolby surround style. Each of the CD’s have 4 Modules on them, which provide a specific frequency range of modulated and filtered sound, using classical music. The ABC Modular Design® is unique to ABT, with a gradual ramp up and ramp down at the beginning and end of each 15 min module. Each CD contains four modules that are 15 minutes each. Each kit comes with and your provider will explain the easy to follow listening schedules.
The music in the Level One Kit is recorded specifically for ABT by the award-winning musicians of the San Francisco based Arcangelos Chamber Ensemble. The result is a much higher quality of music then most listening programs offer. The music selected and recorded for The Listening Program Classic CDs 1-10 include compositions by Mozart, Vivaldi, Haydn, Corelli, and Danzi. Nature sounds are included in one of the options for kits. The classical music pieces are specifically selected, re-arranged, and engineered to train the muscles of the inner ear through various frequency ranges, as well as moving the sound in various ways and directions within the three-dimensional sound space created with the headphones. The arrangements are “filtered” and “gated” at gradually increasing levels through the course of the ten-CD series, to assist in one’s ability to process sound, orient to sound space and improve one’s listening skills dramatically.
The basic listening schedule calls for two 15-minute segments of headphone listening per day, 5 days a week, for a period of 10 weeks, over two cycles. It can be completed at home, at school, or in the office.
